Fort Divitia

The fort was surrounded by a moat and walls outfitted with 14 round towers and two fortified gates. The West Gate, which faced the Rhine, was connected to the East Gate by the wide main street of the camp. Eight barracks were located on each side of this road. As part of the Lower German Limes fortifications, Fort Divitia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
